Abstract
In recent years, cooperation in higher education between Europe and Africa has increased significantly. Programs such as Youth Mobility for Africa, the Global Gateway Africa–Europe Investment Package, and the new EU-Africa Strategy aim to enhance the quality, relevance, and attractiveness of African higher education institutions as study destinations, as well as promote academic mobility and the recognition of qualifications. Within the Erasmus+ program (2021–2027), Sub-Saharan Africa has been designated a “new priority region.” Thus, in the 2024 CBHE (Capacity Building in Higher Education) Call, Strand 1, the area designated as Sub-Saharan Africa received an allocated budget of €8,210,669, compared to €3,749,182 for Asia and €927,780 for Latin America.
